Do You Dare Brave The Lighthouse in Phasmophobia's Newest Update?

Great news to all you paranormal investigators out there, as Phasmophobia has rolled out a massive update featuring fixes, changes, and a whole new map to explore! Featured in the 0.10.0.0 update, the newest map, Point Hope, takes your team of intrepid ghost hunters to the titular area. Consisting of a towering lighthouse and the connected home, the newest haunted dwelling will have a whopping 10 floors and 12 rooms to explore, with most of them being large round rooms in the lighthouse itself.

In addition to the new level, Phasmophobia has added some tweaks and adjustments to the progression system and items you use on your spirit-catching day-to-day. EXP required to level up has been reduced by 10% between levels 1-100 to help new players catch up. The level cap for levelling has also been increased to 9999 for each prestige. Contrariwise, the EXP needed to level upwards from 999 to 9999 will increase per level gained. Finally, the reward for medium and large areas has been increased to $150 and $200, respectively.

In terms of equipment, the changes are as follows:

  • The Tier I DOTS now has a longer range, and the Tier III's scanning rotation can now be stopped by interacting with the item.
  • The Tire I EMF's needle will no longer flicker near or past the "5" value during events and haunts to avoid confusion. The Tier III EMF will now play a unique sound upon reaching level 5
  • Firelight will now last longer for Tiers I and II, the item will also respond correctly to heavy rain, not being snuffed out when outside, but under something.
  • You can now turn off Head Gear with a dedicated button, along with sound cues to indicate when the device is on/off. All Tiers of the device will react when within range of a ghost event or haunting.
  • Tier I Parabolic Microphones will show a red light when a sound is detected. Tier III devices will be able to pick up sounds one floor above or below the user, indicating such with a new UI. Parabolic Microphones need to be held to be turned off.
  • The Thermometer's USE button can now be held down to get a continuous update (Tier II or III). Tier I now has similar randomisation to the other Tiers, with Tier III's being reduced to grant better accuracy.
  • Tripods and Video Cameras are now thrown by ghosts more consistently, with Tripod knockdown chance being increased for both Tier I and II.
  • Sanity Medication will now restore your spirit endurance faster. Tier III Medication will instantly refill it to full and keep it there for an additional 10 seconds.
  • Sound sensors can now be muted
  • The Spirit Box now requires small environment lights to be turned off to function, in addition to needing to be held in order to use the text-based voice recognition.
