Numskull's Miniature Galaga Cabinet - Preview

You may have seen James' review of Numskull's amazing mini Pac-Man cabinet earlier this year on GameGrin, and if you haven't, you really ought to check it out. Never one to rest on its laurels, Numskull is raising the bar once again with an even lovelier looking replica cabinet, this time for classic shoot-em-up Galaga.

The quarter scale arcade series is set to include a number of games, with Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga and Galaxian all confirmed. The Galaga cabinet is nearly ready now, with the final design confirmed by the company recently. At Play Expo, we met with Ryan from Numskull and he gave us a first look at the finished design, which is absolutely impeccable and looks just as realistic as the Pac-Man machine that we've already seen.

It's a heavy beast too, with authentic materials meaning that the cabinet is constructed of wood rather than the cheap plastic that we've come to expect from replica merchandise. That extra heft gives you a product that feels quality, which should make you feel better about handing over a fair chunk of money for it. Also, you can stand next to it and pretend that you are a giant alongside a regular sized Galaga cab.
