PC Gaming Show: Generation Exile

Tonight at the PC Gaming Show, we saw the world premiere of a unique new city-builder: Generation Exile. In Generation Exile, you travelled across the stars to build a new civilisation among the stars. With only a few thousand people left, all resources are finite.

Materials, food, air, and water, are all things that you need. While everyone may not get along, you need to learn to grow and build a sustainable future for humanity. Every decision will determine if humanity earns a second chance.

With years going by in minutes, Generation Exile is about leaving an ecologically-ravaged Earth to make a new sustainable society. Shepherd the survivors to a new area. While you need to still supply them with stuff like the usual city builders, you need to be careful.

Expansion isn’t forever. Generation Exile expands on that. It’s a new way of thinking about city-builders compared to the infinite resources of others. If you’re on a spaceship, you only have what’s available to you. Follow a narrative and story that will be up to you. Instead of playing through each turn, you can see events in reaction to your own choices.

So, if you want a chance to see how your choices matter in a city-builder, you should check out Generation Exile. Add it to your wishlist on Steam, and you can sign up for Sonderlust Studio’s newsletter to stay updated with any developments. So far, it’s slated for release sometime in 2025.
