Dead by Daylight Cross-progression is Out Now How to Participate

Dead by Daylight is finally going to offer one of the most highly requested features in the game: cross-platform progression. If you've ever played a match — or several matches — on consoles like Xbox or PlayStation and on PC through Steam or the Epic Games store, you'll now have the opportunity to share the best ones across all of the platforms! Here's what you need to know.

Starting off, the most important thing to note is what will participate. The Dead by Daylight versions in the following consoles will have cross-progression:

  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Steam
  • Epic Games Store
  • Microsoft Store
  • Nintendo Switch

There is one caveat to this, however — though most platforms have full cross-progression, the Nintendo Switch has a few exceptions. All platforms share progression and inventory, but the Nintendo Switch is the only one excluded from the paid content being part of the cross-progression: the paid currency and DLC.

If you buy any DLC across the platforms outside of the Nintendo Switch, you'll get it on that console (and all others), but anything bought within Nintendo's handheld will stay in there. The same doesn't apply to paid currency, however; that one will be locked in the Nintendo Switch forever.

As for your other consoles, players will get a brand-new wallet which will be the cumulative amount from all of the platforms. This means that all of your Bloodpoints, Iridescent Shards, and Rift Fragments will be shared and you'll receive a new cumulative throughout all of your accounts, giving you even more than you originally had.

Players who bought DLC across various platforms will not be refunded for their purchase, as Behaviour Interactive Inc. has announced that retroactive refunds cannot be issued, but players can get 4500 Iridescent Shards as a thank-you gift for supporting the game that can be claimed up to three months after cross-play released (so you have until the 22nd of October to claim them).

If you want to set up cross-progression, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Create or log into your Behavior Account
  2. Enable cross-progression
  3. Select all of the platforms and link your respective platform accounts
  4. Sync your game progress

Once done, you'll eventually receive the unique Campfire Charm, though if you've already linked your account in the past, you'll also be receiving it retroactively. The process will vary in length depending on your progression across the platforms — if you have a lot of data and a lot of players are trying to sync at the same time, it might be a bit longer.

Dead by Daylight cross-progression is out since the 22nd of July.
