MultiVersus Reveals Two Villainous Characters in Official Launch Trailer

MultiVersus is done from its Open Beta hiatus, and is officially coming back. After taking a break from the 25th of June 2023 (nearly a whole year ago), the game is finally making its return, resetting from Season 2 all the way to Season 1 with the release of Puns & Villainy.

The official launch trailer, "Stars Collide. Pies Fly", is a CGI look at a lot of the characters that you'll be able to battle with and against, also featuring a slew of new characters that weren't available in the original Open Beta period. Starring characters from the fan-favourite Bugs Bunny to the newly announced Joker, this trailer ends with a look at two of the upcoming characters that hadn't been previously shown off: Jason Voorhees and Agent Smith.

Jason Voorhees will be releasing alongside the free-to-play launch of the game on the 28th of May, but those who are looking forward to take control of Agent Smith will have to wait just a bit longer, as he'll release later on in the Puns & Villainy season. Alongside these two reveals, the trailer shows several characters:

• Velma (Scooby-Doo)
• Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
• Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes)
• Iron Giant (The Iron Giant)
• Rick Sanches (Rick and Morty)
• Stripe (Gremlins)
• Finn the Human (Adventure Time)
• Cake the Cat (Adventure Time)

The full roster of characters keeps growing, and we can't wait to see more of it when the free-to-play title releases on the 28th of May for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games store.
