Xbox One Designed to Stay Powered on for a Decade

According to an article by Eurogamer, "inside sources at Microsoft" have revealed that the new Xbox One console is designed so that it could stay powered on for an entire decade.

It seems the engineers at Microsoft have designed the hardware to be as efficient as possible at heat dissipation, with the shell larger than the inital Xbox 360 to leave plenty of room for cooling and much less potential for overheating (red ring of death anyone?). This means the console can stay running for a long time, ten years in fact!

Furthermore the console should be nearly completely silent when running in your home, making only some small noise when particularly demanding, intensive gaming graphics are running. So if you enjoy your gaming time as quiet as possible then this will no doubt come as welcome news.
